Cattery prices: how much does a cattery cost?
How much catteries charge per day or night, what's included, why sharing a pen saves money, and the extra costs to check before you book cat boarding.
Updated 18 October 2026

Catteries usually charge per pen, per day, and the price depends on how many cats share the pen. That makes multi-cat households much cheaper per cat than you might expect.
How cattery pricing works
At the Warrington catteries we checked in October 2026, published prices for one cat ranged from £13 to £14.50 a day. Sharing a pen brings the cost per cat down. One cattery charges £14.50 a day for one cat, £22.50 for two and £29 for three in the same pen.
Only cats from the same household share a pen.
What’s usually included
- A pen with sleeping area, often heated, and frequently an outdoor run
- Food from a range of popular brands. Prescription or special diets are usually supplied by you.
- Bedding, litter, toys and a scratching post
Extra costs to ask about
- Medication. Some catteries charge a small daily fee to give medicine.
- Deposits. Often required for a first booking, and often non-refundable.
- Cancellation charges. These usually increase the closer you cancel to arrival.
- Arrival and departure days. Many catteries charge both.
- Christmas Day. Some charge it as a double day.
How to compare quotes fairly
- Ask for the total for your dates, with all your cats in one pen.
- Check whether both arrival and departure days are charged.
- Check what’s included: food, medication, heating.
- Compare the council star rating alongside the price. See what star ratings mean.
